Scholarship Purpose

The purpose is "to encourage young students to continue the serious study of music in performance and to acknowledge exceptional ability and accomplishment by awarding financial assistance to those pursuing a career in music."

Application Guidelines

Applications to be submitted online.

Applicants must be a graduating high school senior and preparing to study collegiate level music in Performance, Music Education, or Composition the following Fall.

Applicants may submit their 250-300 word essay to Linda Appert (appertlw@gmail.com) by the application deadline. Tell us how this scholarship will make an impact in your life!

Repertoire Guidelines

Performance repertoire must include the following qualifications and must not exceed 15 minutes total per applicant:

Piano | One composition from the Baroque Era, one movement from a Classical Era sonata, and one Romantic OR Contemporary composition

Strings, Bass, Woodwinds | One movement of a concerto, sonata, or comparable work

Voice | Two memorized songs in contrasting style and period with at least one sing in a language other than English. One song may be from the musical theatre genre. An aria from opera or oratorio can be considered when sung in the original language and key. An accompanist is required for the vocal audition and they should make arrangements prior to audition day.
