
The Clark County Piano Competition
The Clark County Piano Competition is a formal competition, featuring 1st Place, 2nd Place, and Honorable Mention placements. Students are organized by age brackets. Students that have participated in the Music Artistry Program may also compete to represent Clark County and perform at the WSMTA State Conference in June.

Meet the Visiting Artist
Our Visiting Artists are highly trained, vetted, and passionate about community music education. They love what they do and do what they love!
In her work as an arts mentor, she has been a consultant to state and regional divisions of the Music Teachers National Association, the National Federation of Music Clubs, to colleges and universities, and to arts nonprofits. In 2021-2022, she was a Visiting Fellow in the Institute for Sacred Music (School of Music) at Yale University. She has given workshops and residencies throughout the U.S., including the University of Southern California Thornton School of Music, University of Nebraska (Lincoln), Willamette University, Colgate University, to mention a few. She has also served as a National Endowment for the Arts state arts advocate performing artist for Oregon, Idaho, and Arizona, and has worked as a career coach for hundreds of individual music professionals throughout the U.S. and abroad. Currently, she serves as a consultant to the Yamaha Corporation of American and to its nationwide representatives through Classic Pianos. She holds dual citizenship in France and the U.S. and divides her time accordingly.

Competition hours are Sunday, 2-5pm

Teachers registering three or more students will be expected to assist with monitoring sessions

All registrations to be submitted online

Please input your student's full name properly and correctly, as participation certificates will be printed using this information

Please input all repertoire information, including catalog number and key

Memorization is required

Please mail checks made payable to MTACC to the Treasurer within one week of registration
Student Divisions

Repertoire choices must 5 minutes or less: ​

Children (Grades K-3)

Lower Youth (Grades 4-5)

Student Eligibility​
-
Student must have studied with a current MTACC teacher for a minimum of 6 months

If the student studies with more than one teacher, both teachers' names must be entered on the registration form
Teacher Eligibility
-
Teacher must be an MTACC member in good standing OR pay the non-member rate of $65 plus student fees
-
The Visiting Artist will award each group with a 1st Place Winner (trophy), 2nd Place (medal), and Honorable Mention (ribbon)

All participants will receive a certificate at the end of their session

No recordings (audio, video, or photography) will be permitted during the Competition
Results

The Visiting Artist's decisions are final and he/she is not to discuss the results with anyone

Teachers are not allowed to ask the judge on the final results

The Visiting Artist will notify the Competition Chair with the award results at the end of the Competition

If teacher, student, or parent contact the judge regarding the final results, the participant will be disqualified

The Competition Chair will notify the teachers of results via email by Wednesday after the Competition

Teachers must make arrangements to pick up the awards from the Competition Chair within two weeks after the Competition
